Syarat Kelayakan dan Kriteria
PROGRAM DIPLOMA
- Warganegara Malaysia
- Berumur 18 - 28 tahun
- Kreatif (mesti lulus temuduga di KRU Academy)
- Boleh berkomunikasi dan menulis dalam Bahasa Melayu dan Bahasa Inggeris dengan baik
- Kelayakan akademik yang baik (tidak semestinya penting)
- Tidak buta warna
Untuk program JPK, borang permohonan hendaklah dikemukakan tidak lewat daripada 30 hari sebelum tarikh pendaftaran. Untuk maklumat lanjut mengenai JPK dan programnya, sila layari www.dsd.gov.my Semua pemohon yang disenarai pendek akan dipanggil untuk temuduga dengan Panel Penilaian Pelajar KRU Academy. Pemohon yang berjaya akan diberi Surat Tawaran oleh Naib Presiden Akademik & Hal Ehwal Pelajar sebelum tarikh pendaftaran program.
PROGRAMS DIPLOMA VOKASIONAL
- Warganegara Malaysia
- Berumur sekurang-kurangnya 15 tahun pada tarikh permohonan
- Berjaya menamatkan Tingkatan 3 di mana-mana sekolah bantuan penuh kerajaan
- Mendapat kebenaran Ibubapa atau penjaga
- Kreatif (mesti lulus ujian melukis di KRU Academy)
- Boleh berkomunikasi dan menulis dalam Bahasa Melayu dan Bahasa Inggeris dengan baik
- Kelayakan akademik yang baik (tidak semestinya penting)
- Tidak buta warna
Untuk program KPM, permohonan hendaklah dibuat melalui laman web rasmi KPM sebelum tarikh akhir yang diberikan oleh KPM. Untuk maklumat lanjut mengenai KPM dan programnya, sila layari www.moe.gov.my

Sijil Animasi 2D - Certificate in 2D Animation
There are numerous hit 2D animation television series currently being broadcast on Disney, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and local networks today. 2D animation is more cost effective, easier to produce and is highly marketable especially in the global television market.Our 2D animation course is developed to meet the growing requirements and demands of animation studios globally. The programme focuses on the development of individual creative expression using an innovative animation pipeline. This is accomplished through the melding of artistic application of the theories of motion, timing, storytelling and entertainment coupled with the use of up-to-date technology required to successfully produce content in the competitive world of 2D and digital animation.

Sijil Kesan Visual (VFX) - Certificate in Visual Effects (VFX)
Computer Visual Effects (known as VFX) has become very popular over the past two decades thereby enabling directors and screenwriters tell larger than life stories beyond our wildest imagination. The specialized skills of VFX Artistes help filmmakers bring their vision to screen and are very much sought after in the modern era of filmmaking.Apart from films, the services of VFX Artistes are also used in the production of television commercials, television programs, music videos, video games and other forms of video content.

3D animated feature films and television programmes are amongst the most highly marketable entertainment content internationally, arising from the ease of adaptability into any language. As such 3D artistes are much sought after in today’s job market.There are various specialists in 3D animation, in production pipeline areas such as modeling, rigging, lighting, texturing, rendering, compositing and animation. 3D artistes are also sought after in the production of television commercials, television programs, music videos, video games and other forms of video content.

Diploma ini dibangunkan mengikut NOSS tahap 3 ( 3D Production Support) dan Tahap 4 (Animation Content Production) yang disediakan oleh JPK (Jabatan Pembangunan Kemahiran). Program ini akan mengambil masa 2 tahun pengajian akademik dan 3 bulan latihan praktikal.

MENGAPA ANIMASI 3D?
Industri animasi di Malaysia telah mendapat perhatian daripada Kerajaan akhir-akhir ini. Industri ini dilihat sebagai kenderaan pantas yang akan membantu dengan cepat memodenkan negara ini. Pertama usaha animasi 3D di Malaysia ialah 2000 filem “Nien Resurrection” dan sebuah siri episod "Skyland". Walau bagaimanapun, di akhir 1990-an, elemen animasi 3D sudah dimasukkan dalam siri animasi Keluang Man.
Era ini juga menyaksikan peningkatan dalam usaha untuk menggalakkan secara agresif usaha animasi keluaran tempatan. Sejak tahun 2000, industri animasi Malaysia telah pergi jauh di peringkat global apabila Perbadanan Pembangunan Multimedia (MDeC) yang menghasilkan Saladin: The Animated Series untuk Channel Al Jazeera Kanak-kanak. Sejak itu, banyak syarikat-syarikat animasi Malaysia telah memasarkan kerja-kerja mereka secara global. Animasi ini telah berjaya mempromosikan Malaysia di peringkat global dengan mewujudkan kandungan berdasarkan budaya Malaysia dengan nilai-nilai universal.
Sejajar dengan perkembangan animasi dan teknologi beberapa tahun kebelakangan ini, keperluan untuk artis 3D yang baik telah menjadi satu keperluan bagi pelbagai firma pereka permainan video dan filem animasi. Dengan kemajuan dalam teknologi animasi, artis 3D dijangka akan mewujudkan unsur-unsur untuk permainan, animasi dan industri filem.
Tanggungjawab seorang artis 3D termasuk membangunkan konsep reka bentuk asas, mencipta konsep seni , papan cerita menarik dan pengubahan animasi, penteksturan, pencahayaan dan shading grafik.
Selalunya, artis 3D bekerja dalam kumpulan mengikut kepakaran dalam bidang-bidang tertentu, tetapi mereka mungkin perlu menguasai pelbagai kemahiran untuk memaksimumkan peluang kerjaya mereka. Ramai pakar artis 3D dalam medium tertentu, seperti permainan video, televisyen atau filem. Dalam bidang ini, artis 3D boleh menjadi pakar dengan menumpukan kepada bidang tertentu seperti reka bentuk watak-watak untuk permainan video, susun atur dan rupa paras permainan atau pemandangan filem animasi.
Sebagai seorang artis 3D, asas dalam lukisan tradisional dan lukisan sangat penting. Kebanyakan artis 3D juga mempunyai ciri-ciri atau kemahiran yang berikut:
- Keupayaan artistik yang kuat dengan teori warna, ilustrasi dan petunjuk
- Kemahiran komunikasi yang baik
- Kemahiran Komputer
- Keupayaan untuk bekerja sebagai sebahagian daripada satu pasukan
- Keupayaan untuk mengendalikan pelbagai projek berpandukan tarikh akhir
- Kesanggupan dan keupayaan untuk menguasai standard industri terkini dan perisian komputer
- Minat mendalam dalam seni
